Este primer post "oficial" me gustaría dedicárselo a las personas que están buscando y peleando por realizar su sueño, dedicarse a lo que de verdad les gusta y construyendo poco a poco su felicidad.
En resumen.. que luchan por su propósito! :)

Podría sentirme identificada con la imagen en el sentido de que la fotografía es un camino complicado, al principio con más decepciones que alegrías.. los que estáis en esto ya lo sabéis. Es un mundo lleno de competencia, y al principio es muy difícil hacerse un hueco y darse a conocer. Pero al final siempre hay ALGO que te hace seguir adelante y replantearte tu negativa y desilusión, y te impulsa muuuy alto. Para algunas personas puede ser una cosa, para otras, otra; cada persona es un mundo y cada uno tiene su historia y sus ambiciones.
En mi caso, lo que me hizo tomar el impulso y seguir adelante en el mundo de la foto fue Photovogue.
Por eso os quiero explicar de qué va, además algunas personas me han preguntado vía facebook, o me han pedido consejos.
He de decir que, por supuesto, este no es un post nada original, yo me enteré de la existencia de Photovogue por medio del blog de la fotógrafa Sol Vázquez. (De hecho, gracias a ella me he enterado de muchas cosas relacionadas con agencias y websites donde compartir nuestras fotografías y hacernos así un poquito de eco). Así que desde aquí le doy humildemente las gracias :)
Photography is hard, you'll know what I mean if you're a professional photographer or trying to be one. At first, there are more troubles than joys, photography's world is filled with competition and sometimes, mostly when you're starting, it's difficult to get known. But there is always SOMETHING that makes you keep going and takes away the negativity. That something is different in each person, each one has his history and ambitions.
But in my case, my something was Photovogue.
That's why I want to explain you what it is and how it works (if you still don't know). Also, some people asked me via facebook.

Yeah, I have to say that this post isn't original at all, I known about Photovogue through Sol Vázquez's blog (thanks to her learned many things about agencies and websites when we can share our photographs). So thank you, Sol! :)
Bueno, a lo que iba: Photovogue es una iniciativa de la web italiana de la revista Vogue, que surgió en 2010, y tiene como propósito abrir camino a fotógrafos emergentes. Se podría decir que es una red social fotográfica, donde puedes crearte un portfolio, comentar, likear y compartir con los demás fotógrafos tus imágenes. Además, crearse un perfil es completamente gratis.
Peero.. no todo es tan fácil y tan fantástico... sólo se permite subir dos fotos diarias (de lunes a jueves); y los editores las tienen que aceptar (filtro de calidad) para que formen parte de tu portfolio. He de decir que yo cuando empecé con ello, subía un montón de fotos (casi todos los días las dos permitidas) y casi nunca me aceptaban nada :(
Así que paciencia y constancia..! Porque aún no hemos descubierto en qué se basan los editores para aprobar o rechazar las imágenes, así que, como dice Sol, probad con un poco de todo lo que tengáis!

Photovogue is a Vogue Italia's initiative appeared in 2010. Its objective is 'making new photographers find their way through the crowd'. A photography-related social network you can say, where you can make a profile, react and like another people's pictures. And share yours with them, ofc. Creating a profile is totally free ;)
So.. patience and keep trying!! Because we still don't know exactly the requirements that the pics should have to be approved. So try with a little bit of everything you have! Like Sol says!

Till here.. no sweat. Now the tricky part. They only allow you to upload two pics per day (Monday to Thursday) and the Vogue's editors have to approve them to be able to appear in your portfolio.
I have to say, when I started with it, I used to upload almost everyday, and they rarely approved my work :(

Como veis, tampoco hay que subir exclusivamente fotografía de moda, podéis colaborar con otros tipos de imágenes (aclaro porque algunas personas que me han preguntado pensaban que sólo era para fotógrafos de moda).
As you can see, there isn't necessary to upload exclusively fashion photography images, you can upload all kinds of images.

Cada día, los editores seleccionan, entre todas las fotos aprobadas esa misma jornada, la foto del día "Pic of the day", la cual será portada de photovogue durante 24h y será publicada en la edición impresa de la revista junto con las demás pics of the day. También pasará a formar parte de los archivos de Vogue. Mola, eh?
Y lo mejor de todo, es que Photovogue colabora con la agencia Art+Commerce, la cual envía cada X meses invitaciones a los fotógrafos con portfolio en photovogue para que puedan subir sus fotografías en su website y ponerlas a la venta para uso editorial. (No, a mi no me han enviado aún nada, hehe).
Art+Commerce es una de las agencias de fotografía más prestigiosas del mundo, representa a fotógrafos como Patrick Demarchelier, Sølve Sundsbø o Steven Meisel, para que os hagáis una idea.
Así que si algún día os envían la tan ansiada invitación, imagino que daréis saltos de felicidad! :) (Yo lo haré).
Como veis, es una pedazo de oportunidad, que yo si fuera vosotros me pondría manos a la obra pero ya! A perseguir vuestros sueños, chic@s!

It'll also be a part of the Vogue's archives. Cool, eh?
And... the best of all! Photovogue collaborates with Art + Commerce, which sends every X months invitations (to photographers with a portfolio in Vogue) for being able to upload our pictures in their site and sell'em! COOL! (they haven't sent me anything yet heheh).
Art + Commerce is one of the most prestigious photo-agencies worldwide, they work with photographers like Patrick Demarchelier, Sølve Sundsbø or Steven Meisel.
So, if they send you the invitation.. prepare yourself! (I'm gonna JUUUMP if they do).
As you can see, it's a huge oportunity, if I were you I'd be creating my profile right now! Go follow your dreams guys!
